ItzSpongeBob 1999 (wall contribs 16,590)

He has made a ton of high quality edits recently, especially those relating to UK and Ireland airdates. He has also expanded several articles, most notably SpongeBob Birthday Marathon, adding over 14,000 bytes of content to the page in one day! All these and the numerous other good edits he's made make him more than worthy of becoming UOTM.  AndromedaMapping1 (WCASign)‎ ‎  23:32, 9 Apr 2025 UT

  • Neutral - I think he's good got editing skills and is a very nice user, but he kind of falters in terms of editing for the UK/Ireland airdates, which is where the meat of editing has gone to. And don't get me wrong, there are good intentions behind these edits, but the problem with them is they seem to misinform and confuse the reader on the subject. Now I'm not from the UK, I'm from America, so I might be inexperienced on this whole debacle, but the way these have been handled is somewhat poor. The first problem with these airdates is that they're just not very confident and well-cited.

I remember making a comment in the UK/Ireland page about wiping a good majority of the unconfirmed airdates, since they were basically not referenced at all and with some people already touting suspicions that these were faked I was going to wipe pretty much a majority of the airdates from like, pre-season 9-ish, since I did some (albeit, minor) checking on NickALive! and other Nick UK skeds and nothing really seemed to match up and write this whole thing off as a lost cause. However, when airdates got referenced and actually began to answer my call, I had hope, but unfortunately, a lot of these dates don't even mention episode titles or anything, which came off as very speculative and unbelievable. At that, airdates constantly got changed and changed again to other sources with no mention of titles or anything, honestly kind of worsening the situation. With other sources, while it mentions when something aired, it's not very specific, for example, there's a cite mentioned 172/173/174/176 airing in October 2013, but there are no notified dates from what I saw on that page. If more tentative and unsure language, like saying "prior to," "between," or (ekd - earliest known date) was used, I would be more forgiving and would probably support this nomination, but it seemed things would change on a whim with full confidence, only to be revised the next week. I feel like, to at the least the readers that take note of this information, it would be confusing and hard to follow. So for that reason, I kinda can't vote support. SmuckAmuck

  • Reply - I do apologise for the confusion that my recent edits has caused you, and I do admit that I am in the wrong for editing the page as I am researching it - I find new information that bring me closer to the true airdates about once a week. To mitigate this, I have created a Truth-O-Meter with my full research on each and every airdate that I have worked on (currently Seasons 1-3 are live, will finish other seasons later). If you would like to, I could revise some of the more ambiguous airdates with ranges as to when the episodes could've aired. Would you like me to do that?  ItzSpongeBob 1999 M·B·C·A·E  15:02, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
    • Reply - Yeah, because I don't think you should add unsure information to this wiki (unless it's very very likely or pretty much true) because it can kind of misinform some people. Mainly something I've began to realize while using the internet is that a lot of people will automatically believe something that's told to them if it has enough leverage behind it and could potentially spread misinformation, without looking in deeper to the situation (I say this because for some SpongeBob stuff I've seen, instead of consulting actual sources they just rip stuff of the wiki and treat it as fact, which is pretty bad IMO, and has even kind of happened to me with my own editing on my older accounts). To be fair this is kind of not the biggest issue in this case (although I do remember the Shanghaied/Gary Takes a Bath 2008 having like a YouTube short about it a while ago), but I think it is a good idea to take precautions. • Reply - I have added my true opinions on sources with my uncertainties for the episodes between Seasons 1-3 here, of course I strive to add the most accurate information to this wiki, however that information is really hard to come by and the search for airdates has been a working progress by the community, similar to the U.S. airdate discrepancy solved in 2020, and the U.S. ratings discrepancy solved in 2022. As for the airdates from Seasons 4-9A, I do believe that almost all the airdates are correct, but I will add inaccuracies if I don't believe the sources are adequate.  ItzSpongeBob 1999 M·B·C·A·E  13:56, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
