Tim Conway has sadly passed away today at the age of 85. He was a comedic genius and critical to the success and recognition of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy as a crime-fighting duo and to SpongeBob SquarePants as a whole. A true icon.

I really enjoyed all those episodes of SpongeBob that feature Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, and seeing how hilarious both Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway were as their respective characters really made my day and my childhood. I was saddened to have heard that Ernest Borgnine passed away almost 7 years ago, and I'm just as saddened now because Tim Conway is gone as well. He's a comedic genius, a talented man, and our Barnacle Boy Man, and he will be dearly missed. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy reunite.....in heaven. Rest well, Tim. -BLambClammy
He gave Barnacle Boy a great approach. The character would of never been the same if someone else voiced him. He was an extremely talented voice actor and comedian. Barnacle Boy's shift to the dark side has always been one of my all-time favorite episodes. Tim and Ernest gave truly hilarious and memorable performances as their characters. The show will never be the same without them, but they will always be remembered. Katie (wall ■ contribs)

Are you kidding me? I thought that they'd have found a new voice actor for Mermaid Man before long. But now we've lost the voice actor of Barnacle Boy as well. R.I.P. Ernest Borgnine, Stephen Hillenburg, and Tim Conway. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes were some of my favorite episodes of SpongeBob. It's sad to see Tim Conway die. Also SpongeBob Twitter posted the Ugly Barnacle story on the day that he died, which was bad timing on their part.
It's so awful that we lost yet another amazing, talented member of the SpongeBob crew. RIP, Tim Conway. On the bright side, at least Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy are united again up in the Big Shady Shoals in the Sky. Mr Morshu

I feel very unfortunate that Tim Conway had passed away today. I had always enjoyed hearing his cynical portrayal of Barnacle Boy, and whenever I hear his voice as Barnacle Boy I would immediately connect myself to this awesomely acted character portrayal. I was hoping he could make a return to act as Barnacle Boy some day, but unfortunately he couldn't since 2016 due to some long-term illness. Tim Conway may no longer be living anymore, but his contributions to this awesome childhood TV show will never die out.
You were a brilliant voice for Barnacle Boy. Millions of fans loved you and your voice for the cynical character. While this is a sad event, the happy side is that now Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy will be reunited at last. So you are the legendary voice actor and you will enjoy in the sky with Stephen Hillenburg, Chris Reccardi and Ernest Borgnine. So for that, you are the greatest voice actor from now on. At least Tim Conway made it to SpongeBob's 20th anniversary. Ironically, Ernest Borgnine, the original voice of Mermaid Man, died at the age of 95 and Tim Conway, the original voice of Barnacle Boy, died at the age of 85. Both of them died 10 ages apart. Also, I feel like the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes tended to be some of the best episodes of the show in my opinion. R.I.P. Tim Conway. - Jensonk
