This page is for the purpose of discussing bureaucrat requests. If you would like to make a request, you need to fill out the form so the community can discuss your request. Anyone failing to meet the requirements will have their request deemed invalid and closed.
General information[]
There are numerous requirements to request to be a bureaucrat. It is highly recommended that you are able to show examples that you are worthy of having bureaucratic powers. If your request fails, review the comments and take that as advice to help you in any future request.
Requirements[]
Per Section B of the promotion policy, the requirements are:
- a. The user must be a current administrator for at least one (1) year.
- b. The user must have at least 4,000 edits, of which at least 2,000 are main namespace edits.
- c. The user must have a clean block record for at least one (1) year, not counting invalid blocks.
- d. The user must demonstrate good reasons for any questionable edits.
- e. If the nominee has a rate of support of 80% or above, the rights are granted.
- f. If the nominee has a rate of support between 70% and 80%, bureaucratic discretion is to be used in determining whether rights are granted. Arguments from the votes provided and the responses of the nominee to questions will be considered.
- g. If the nominee does not have a rate of support of 70% or above, the rights are not granted.
List of abilities[]
The bureaucrat user right has all the abilities included in the administrator user group. However, the abilities exclusive to bureaucrats are as follows:
- Promote users to the assistant, administrator, bureaucrat, and bot user groups
- Demote users from the assistant, administrator, and bot user groups
- Remove group from own account: Bureaucrat
Request form[]
- 1. Replace USERNAME with your username in the box below. If you are making a second request, add "/2" after your username. If it is a third request, add "/3," etc.
- 2. Click "submit."
- 3. When you submit, fill out the information on the resulting page (username and description), then save the page.
- 4. Copy and paste the following under "requests" of this page, replacing "USERNAME" with your username:
- Example: [[ESB:Requests for bureaucrat/USERNAME]]
- 5. If you are making a second request, add "/2" to the page name below:
- Example: [[ESB:Requests for bureaucrat/USERNAME/2]]
- 6. For subsequent requests, add "/3," "/4," "/5," etc.
- IMPORTANT: You must answer the questions within two (2) hours of your request's creation. Failure to do so will result in your request being closed as invalid.
