a. Why do you believe you are qualified to be promoted to this position?
I have been an assistant for over two months, and a chat moderator for over a year and two months. I've been extremely active on the chat, keeping it safe from trolls, sockpuppets, disruptive users, and helping to make it a stable place for ESB users, even proposing new guidelines for it that passed without a struggle. On top of this, I often keep an eye on the recent changes log in the Discord server, and check suspicious edits as soon as they appear. For the longest time now, I've been informing the current administrators of any rule violation on the wiki, troll and vandal raids, asked them to complete maintenance tasks such as deleting tons of redirects, files, and pages. With administrator rights, I could complete all of these tasks without having to wait on others and make sure that our wiki runs as smoothly as possible.

b. Have you had experience with this position before?
Yes, I have. I've been a long-term administrator on several wikis, such as The Demon's Light Wiki, Girls' Generation Wiki, and Fanonia SpongeBobia, and I have a near-expert understanding of the administrator tools, never once having misused them. If you'd like, you can check my log on those wikis to back up this claim.

c. What are your best contributions to Encyclopedia SpongeBobia and why?
I believe that my best contribution to this wiki would have been moderating ESB chat for over a year, making sure that it is as organized as possible and clearing the chat of trolls and sockpuppets whenever needed, proposing new guidelines to make the chat more stable and friendly for everyone, and suggesting new scripts be added to the chat to modernize it. On top of this, I've been using my assistant tools, since my promotion, to move proposals from the concerns stage to the voting stage and always making sure that these proposals were moved on time, reverting vandalism during large vandal attacks and protecting pages that were constantly vandalized, protecting title cards and organizing Data:Titlecards, helping to enforce the recently passed discussion by constantly merging unneeded galleries and requesting for an administrator to delete them, fixing double redirects, and doing cleanup to poorly written articles.

d. How do you plan to use your rights if your request is successful?
If this request is successful, I plan on using my rights to help maintain the wiki: Deleting pages if needed, fixing double and broken redirects, updating the MediaWiki pages, cleaning Special:UnusedFiles, close proposals, user rights requests, requests for deletion/protection/unprotection, block trolls/vandals and other bad-faith editors, and issuing warnings to users.

e. Have you been in a situation in which you needed the user rights for this position at that moment but were unable to act?
Yes, many times. There have been various chat raids and wiki raids committed by sockpuppets and vandals were I was the only Crew member online and I had to constantly ban them from the chat and revert their vandalism on the wiki, while waiting for the administrators, who I had pinged in our Discord server, to come online and handle the situation. Just the other day, in fact, a user was vandalizing pages and uploading irrelevant videos to the wiki, Anthony and I were reverting their edits and had to wait quite a while for an administrator to come online and handle the user.

There have also been many times when I had to ask administrators or Discussion moderators in our Discord server to edit posts/delete comments and warn users (just today in fact), as well as asking administrators often times to update MediaWiki pages, block users, or close proposals.

f. Is there anything else you want to add?
While I know that I do not edit mainspace as often as other users, I do not believe that an administrator should constantly have to make large edits in order to be qualified for this position, as anyone can make edits and there is nothing really "administrator-like" about making a large number of edits. What is more important, imo, is showing skill of leadership and dedication to this wiki, showing that they can use their tools correctly and to benefit the wiki. Over the past year of being a chat moderator and several months of being an assistant, I truly believe that I have proved to this community that I am dedicated and loyal to ESB, that I know how to use my tools and handle situations calmly, and will do whatever is needed to help ESB become a better place. I am so glad to have met all of you and you have all made this wiki a special place for me and I've loved every moment of being here. I am excited to see how this request turns out as I would love to help this great place more. As always, feedback is welcome! • Neutral Neutral - You have done a lot of great work recently but I think you should wait a bit to request admin. You barely have over 1,000 main namespace edits and while I know that being admin is more than editing, I think that an admin should have more than the bare minimum. Also you have not been assistant for very long either, again the bare minimum of two months. Like I said you are a great help and are constantly reporting things but I think you should wait longer.  Figmeister (WCE)  06:22, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
  • Comment Reply - I totally understand your concern, however, I'd like to point out that generally there are two different kinds of administrators. Social and editing. If this request is successful, I'd fall under the side of social administrators. Just a bit of a note, but a current social administrator actually has less mainspace edits than myself and still manages to do a good job at administrating and helping the wiki. • Comment Reply - Is Alex.sapre actually a social Administrator? He has 994 Mainspace edits. You have 1,005. Very small difference. A lot of his edits come from maintenance. Every admin should be required to do some sort of maintenance (not just uploading higher quality images, but actually maintaining templates, gallerymaps, etc.) Users can do this too, I find myself doing gallerymap maintenance frequently enough because people create galleries and never update the related gallerymaps. I think you kind of rushed this request (being just over 2 months of assistant and just over 1000 mainspace edits) and are too, yourself, a social User (which isn't a bad thing, but)Tan Ham Man30px 15:37,2/5/2019
  • Comment Reply - My point was that as a social user, my focus as an administrator would be more on the social and maintenance side of the wiki rather than the editing side. With the purpose of mentioning Alex.sapre, I was showing that you do not need large amount of edits in order to be a good administrator. And while I certainly understand that I have not been an assistant for a long time, I am mostly basing this request on my service as a chat moderator and a social user, focusing on the leadership that I've guided the chat and its users with for a long time. As mentioned below, if a user is already experienced enough for a certain role, waiting even longer just to get a larger edit count really serves no purpose. In the end, what is more important? How many edits I have or if I can help maintain the wiki, warn users, block trolls, perform maintenance tasks, and clean up the wiki? • Neutral Neutral - After doing a quick look, yeah, I have to agree with one of the opposes as it's been about only two months since you've been promoted to assistant. I think it's way too soon to be requesting for a major role like admin. I'm staying neutral because your contributions are good but I think you're a little bit in a hurry to be an admin. • Oppose Oppose - Note that I have nothing against you. You are a great user, editor, chat mod and assistant and friend. But there are several things I'd like to point out that I personally see. As you stated on CheeseCrocker's request for assistant, "…I do not believe we need another assistant currently as we already have five assistants, five administrators, and two bureaucrats" and I feel that this is true for Administrators. We already have enough Administrators, adding you to the mix because you've needed the rights doesn't really persuade me. You have just over 1,000 namespace edits, and are just over the requirement of 2,000 edits. Yes I agree, that the number of edits shouldn't impact the quality of edits, and I'm not denying that you have made significant contributions with gallery merges, proposals, the like. But does that necessarily constitute you needing Administrator privileges? Out of the 5 Administrators, I'm friends with them all (close with one in particular) and know at least 3 of them make positive impacts like yourself. 1 does have a bit of an authority problem, but I'm pretty confident they are working on it. So for the time being, I believe that your rights as assistant and chat mod are sufficient enough for the wiki. It's nothing personal, I appreciate you as a friend and contributor. It's hard to put into words without seeming impersonal. Tan Ham Man30px 06:19,2/5/2019
  • Oppose Oppose - Didn’t you literally just become assistant not too long ago? I’d give it a little more time.  DanzxvFan8275 (MCUE)DanPic  11:58, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
  • Comment Reply - I do understand your point about having just become an assistant, however, after talking with a friend last night, they suggested that I make the request last night as waiting for longer wouldn't really accomplish much as I am already experienced with this role. TheKorraFanatic (Message Wall) (Contributions) (Guestbook) 13:16, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
  • Oppose Oppose - You do a great job keeping the chat under control, but your contributions outside of chat mod are underdeveloped, honestly -- especially if you want to request admin. Seriously, I never saw you edit before you started merging galleries from subpages, which many other people are also doing. Those edits and your other contributions all seem like they don't involve much knowledge about SpongeBob at all (does that make sense??) and just require moving content, not writing sections yourself, taking/finding images, or researching the episodes/show/whatever. Looking at Special:ListFiles/TheKorraFanatic it shows you've only ever uploaded four images, only two SpongeBob-related ones. None of your edits are things that the other crew members aren't doing, and those contribs don't seem like they require any more rights than you already have. Tanhamman's vote up there is a lot of what I wanted to say, but your own comment from CheeseCrocker's request last month also sums it up perfectly: "…I do not believe we need another assistant [admin] currently as we already have five assistants, five administrators, and two bureaucrats. Our current team manages to handle any issue that arises and complete any task that needs to be handled in a neat and timely manner and I do not believe we need to expand upon this number for now." --Demigod brendan (talk) 14:12, February 5, 2019 (UTC)

  • Comment Reply - If this request is successful, it would not be expanding ESB:Crew, but rather reorganizing it as I would simply go from my current rights of chat moderator and assistant to administrator. Should also be noted that our current team "manages to handle any issue that arises and complete any task that needs to be handled in a neat and timely manner" because of various users that report issues to the administrators in our Discord server, mainly Anthony and I.
