a. Why do you believe you are qualified to be promoted to this position?
Firstly, I have been working diligently as an assistant, discussion moderator, and chat moderator for a very long time. My protection log is very large and I believe has enough proof that I have been using the tools properly for a very long time. In my near over a year of discussion moderator, I have cleaned up spam threads and comments many times. Despite the fact that I am not active in the forums, I keep a watchful eye on thread activity and use my tools when it is needed. In my over 2 years of chat moderator, I have issued countless warnings, kicks, and bans when they were needed, and I have seldom ever received any complaints about my work. I have also helped new chat moderators and given them advice. Secondly, I have been on ESB since 2014 and seen countless change occur. I believe that I am an experienced user, which will better my judgement when I have to deal with ESB issues. Thirdly, I have participated in many different discussions over the course of my history in ESB and I believe that I have taken a mostly-neutral stance, or done the best I can. Fourth, I have been actively reporting things that only an administrator is able to deal with in the Skype Chatrooms for a very long time, meaning that I have a good grasp of the general policy. If you think that these reasons are slightly weak/lackluster, I understand if that makes you a bit unsure about supporting, but please read to the end of my request for my main reason for wanting to become administrator.

b. Have you had experience with this position before?
Yes. I have been administrator (and bureaucrat) on multiple wikis in the past.

c. What are your best contributions to Encyclopedia SpongeBobia and why?
To be frank, I believe that my best contributions to ESB is voicing my own opinion. There are many times where I have supported an unpopular opinion/opposed a popular one in user rights requests and proposals, which means that I am less likely to be biased towards/against people I like/dislike. In addition, in two of my blogs I have outlined some issues that ESB may be having and urged a call for action. While I cannot fully credit the newly gained activity of chat towards my blogs, I strongly believe that they did help with the process.

d. How do you plan to use your rights if your request is successful?
To give a simple answer, I would say just list the most common tools an administrator has. I will delete all spam pages I catch, block any users who are causing trouble, edit admin-protected pages, and warn users when needed. However, something that I will also do is make sure that everyone's voice on ESB is heard. I know that I do sound like a candidate for an election who makes the best sounding promises but never acts on them, but I have already been doing this. In the SBFW conflict, I have reached out in private towards some disgruntled users for their opinion and plan on bringing them to the administration, provided that they are civil, of course.

e. Have you been in a situation in which you needed the user rights for this position at that moment but were unable to act?
Yes. I have been online when others admins were not during several vandal attacks in the past, to give a basic example.

f. Is there anything else you want to add?
There is a lot I want to add to this request, but I will shorten it by listing one of the biggest issues ESB has had. Let's suppose that you are arguing with a staff member, but they suddenly warn you to stop arguing as you are preparing to make a good point. What is the first thing that comes to mind? Usually that the staff member is trying to silence your opinion because they don't want to admit that you are right. Isn't that really unfair? You definitely can't let that go. You have to tell the rest of the chat how biased they are. And then the ban hammer drops, and the feeling of injustice bubbles up. This is how a misunderstanding begins, and this has happened countless times on the wiki. I know this because I have directly witnessed (and been subject) to this event in real life. Namely, at school, when witnessing a teacher-student conflict. This is an inevitable side-effect of someone having power, and I think that I am one of the few people who actually knows that it's happening. I like to call this the vicious cycle of injustice, which is when users continuously clash against the administration until they are blocked as a result of them believing that they are being silenced and that the administration is abusing their power. If you are willing to trust me with administrator, I will be able to speak louder towards the rest of the administration and wiki to prevent this. I will try my best to minimalize events like this from happening, and I do intend on reaching out towards upset non-troll users personally about them. Here are a few reasons why I should be trusted with this: 1. Many people in the past have praised me for being unbiased, and I was entrusted with the skype admin role because of my generally-neutral stance when it came to arguments.

2. I have never been subject to a URR or been warned for misbehavior in all my years at ESB. I have never had any right entrusted to me being stripped away.

3. I am by no means power hungry. The last time I requested for a right was 3 months ago. Before that, it was almost 345 days ago. Before that, it was 2 years ago. I only request when I believe that the wiki needs someone else in power, not when I want the rights. There have been many people who have told me that they thought I would have been admin by now in the past, but this is the first time I have even expressed interest at becoming administrator.

4. I have expressed a desire for people to criticize me several times, just so I can improve. I am very happy to accept feedback from anyone who is willing to offer it, and this isn't the first time I have stated this.

5. I am very active in the social aspect of the wiki and have spoken out about my opinions about current issues on the wiki. I have expressed a willingness to fix the problems the wiki may have, and I am able to provide proof of this should it be requested.

As usual, I appreciate anyone who has read the entire request and/or who has left a reason beside their vote, no matter you vote. The only thing that I must stress is to please come back to the request after voting if you have expressed a concern, as I will always try to address them as best as I can. Thank you. The most expensive boss, Alex.sapre (talk) 23:19, September 16, 2018 (UTC)

P.S. I'm going to admit this before someone calls me out, but I only reached 1000 mainspace edits today. That is why my editcount may not be accurate because it only updates once per day. However, I don't believe that this is a problem because an administrator's job isn't just to edit. It is to ensure that the community is a friendly and welcoming place and use its other tools. Edits are just to show that one is active in the community, and I have always been more on the social side. Some administrators in the past have been more social than editors, and vice versa, so I don't see the problem with this. In addition, the majority of my edits have been following the manual of style, meaning that I do know how to edit well. Furthermore, I have many other edits outside of mainspace, demonstrating that I am actively involved in the community.
