Instructions

This is a page for creating and resolving concerns on the topic: "Talk pages policy."

At the end of the page, there is a "Create New Concern" button, which you can use to voice your concerns or questions about the proposal. You can use the "Refresh This Discussion" button, which allows you to make sure that all changes have been saved.

After 7 days of discussion, the concerns stage will end. All points brought up during that phase will be taken into account and an administrator, assistant, or the proposal's creator can move the discussion to voting, modifying the original proposal with any changes discussed by the community.

You can also add your comments to existing concerns. On the other hand, if you have no concerns, then you just wait for the voting stage.

Have a happy discussion!

Proposal

As talk pages now coexist with article comments on the UCP, I believe that a proper policy regarding these effectively lawless sections of the wiki are required. As such, for this proposal, I am merely proposing again the implementation of a talk page policy that I proposed here, but that was rejected in favour of re-enabling comments. The policy draft below would be located on a new page by the name of ESB:Talk pages policy. See the blue box below for what I am proposing it would entail:

The talk pages policy details how talk pages are to be used on Encyclopedia SpongeBobia. These are important so that all users can effectively discuss improvements to articles with each other.

Talk pages policy

  • Talk pages are for discussing the article itself, not the subject of the article. Discussion about the subject of the articles should go in the relevant comment section, on discussions, the Discord server or a message wall. Content on talk pages that is not to do with the article will be removed.
  • When posting on talk pages, it is required to leave your username, so that everyone knows who posted what. It is strongly recommended to use a signature to do this. A post left without a signature will have the {{Unsigned}} template placed after the post.
  • You must use headers when posting on talk pages. This helps to prevent different conversations getting mixed up. Any post that does not use headers will be removed.

All other policies generally applying to communication also apply on talk pages.

These would be your standard policy violations. As this is to do with interaction, both administrators and discussion moderators would be able to warn for violations relating to this. Please leave a concern if there are any problems / oversights with this. The gamer 987654321 (talk) 20:35, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Forum and chat do not exist anymore so you must remove it.  Paccar M·B·C·L·E   I love Idiot Box

Oops, I thought had removed that in the first place. It must have been due to the farce with getting the correct templates with the preload thing not working properly. I have removed it now though. The gamer 987654321 (talk) 12:39, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
