Instructions

This is a page for creating and resolving concerns on the topic: "Requests for renaming."

At the end of the page, there is a "Create New Concern" button, which you can use to voice your concerns or questions about the proposal. You can use the "Refresh This Discussion" button, which allows you to make sure that all changes have been saved.

After 7 days of discussion, the concerns stage will end. All points brought up during that phase will be taken into account and an administrator, assistant, or the proposal's creator can move the discussion to voting, modifying the original proposal with any changes discussed by the community.

You can also add your comments to existing concerns. On the other hand, if you have no concerns, then you just wait for the voting stage.

Have a happy discussion!

Proposal

Currently, there is no place to request for a page to be renamed. However I am proposing that we add a place for that. Currently, to "request for a page to be renamed", you add the Rename template saying what you want to rename the article to and why. However, the rename template is rarely responded to by the admins or above. Therefore the rename template is just something that sits there on the article, useless. If we add a place to request a page to be renamed though, that will get responded to, and the community will decide whether or not the page should be renamed. This would work similar to how a request for deletion works, as just like a RfD, these requests will last a week, unless there is not a consensus (70% or above for a response is a consensus), which would mean the request would stay open until there is a consensus. Of course, the three options you can put in a rename request would be "Rename", "Don't Rename" and "Neutral". Basically, these would work just like a RfD.  MagicSponge123 (WCLE)  19:56, January 31, 2020 (UTC)
