Something I forgot to mention is that we are not a small wiki. That's the entire reason the staff probably went to you to propose this idea. We don't need help growing this community. We are a fairly big community. Even if this wiki is losing viewers, it is likely more to do with the website than how this particular wiki is formatted. {{User:120d/SigReal|11:16, February 13, 2019 (UTC)}}

Created concern: No. Just no.

1. I'm still waiting for that actual evidence of the 60% viewership stat, not just a chart that could be made by anyone. In fact, I think that has increased since 2017, which I'm sure any staff member would probably say is accurate with what they are seeing or whatever. 2. Popularity is not the point of the wiki. While I understand why the staff members would want to help increase viewership because of ad revenue, you have no reason to be promoting such ideas. The point of the wiki, which you, as a bureaucrat, should know, is to create an online encyclopedia about SpongeBob. It doesn't matter if we get one view or one million views, popularity doesn't affect us in any way or, at least, it shouldn't. 3. If the idea is that no one views the transcript and gallery pages, which is just not true, I would expect your solution to be getting rid of them, instead of making them bog down the page they are trying to get to. 4. Again, it doesn't matter if they don't get a lot of attention, that has nothing to do with anything. I mean if you really wanted people to see them, then promote them, not destroy pages just to end up harming everyone. The subpages exist to separate the pages, not to determine which is the most popular. 5. Regarding Google, again, that has nothing to do with the wiki. It doesn't matter if the search result is #1 or #1000. 6. Do you work here? Nobody cares if they have to navigate to a separate page. You are creating solutions to non-problems. 7. If galleries get smaller, then you didn't actually solve the problem. You solved the problem of bit size by creating a solution to a non-problem. 8. I'm not going to ignore the fact that you didn't answer a legitimate question about subgalleries. You didn't think that far and you are just saying that you will deal with them later, just like the galleries, which by the way, haven't gotten a permanent solution yet.

To recap, this proposal is bad because it doesn't solve the problem of transcripts and galleries not being viewed, but instead makes main pages messier and ignores the point of the subpages. Had you not clearly made this proposal to appease one or more staff members, who, for reason, you believe have power over you, even though they really don't, maybe you would have actually come up with a solution like I proposed, where you promote the pages, instead of destroying them. The pages do have a purpose, which is to reduce the number of section and bites the pages takes up. This wiki is not about the numbers. If you've forgotten that simple fact, you, 456, should resign or demoted. If you do not care about the actual problems of the wiki, then you have no right to be in the highest position on this wiki. Solutions to non-problems don't help you or really anyone who is having actual problems with this website. Nobody cares that they have to go to a separate page and if anyone does, I bet you they probably wouldn't rank that at the top of the list. I'm sure inaccurate information or the terrible built-in search feature, which even by the mentioning of Google is you admitting that it is inferior to Google, are higher on the list than "I had to go to another page." Seriously though, I bet if staff fixed the built-in search feature, this and every wiki would probably see spikes in all page views across every platform.

I'm sorry if this felt more like an attack on you, 456, than a response to the actual proposal, but I'm just sick of the Staff putting their noses where they don't belong and ignoring the fact that supposedly 40% of viewers, which is not an insignificant number, don't use mobile devices to view FANDOM (or use more than just mobile devices to view FANDOM). I recommend closing this proposal and at least trying to promote lesser viewed pages. I don't know why Staff seems to forget that there are solutions to problems that don't have to screw over one or more parties.  120d  Talk  Contribs  02:37, February 12, 2019 (UTC)

Honest question: if it doesn't matter how many folks view our articles and/or the Google ranking, then why do we make an effort to make them look nice? Surely we want more people looking at our hard work. --Spongebob456 talk 09:35, February 12, 2019 (UTC)

You see, all you have to do to see a transcript/gallery of an article is click a button on the infobox. Transcripts and galleries are separate from the main article because they are major parts in an article, unlike let's say Trivia or Production. Plus, it would take AGES just to merge them. Why have all this work just for better viewership of transcripts and galleries? Like I said, you can just click a button to get to a transcript or gallery, so that makes no sense. Also per 120d viewership barely matters on this wiki. --CheeseCrocker (talk) 13:39, February 12, 2019 (UTC)

@Spongebob456 I don't think the viewership or popularity matters. We clean the wiki because we want users to have a good and smooth reading experience, not becuase it's popular. Expert at Terraria

120d is right. We're not here to appease and increase viewership. Googling anything related to SpongeBob with an extra key word brings us right up. And we want it to look nice because we know people are editing and reading the articles, duh. You don't walk into a house that was just built and is welcoming you inside without actually taking a look. Tan Ham ManSpongebob dancing gif 23:41,2/12/2019

Yes, I fully agree with 120d. Many of the factors involved in this proposal are either: not important, not a problem, or too minor of a positive. Golfpecks2 (Contact • Contrib) 00:19, February 13, 2019 (UTC)
