Proposal

Kandy Katie is proposing the following:

Right now, many of the episode infoboxes are missing foreign premiere dates and other info. This is because episode infoboxes are separate from episode pages and protected for only admins to edit them. I'm proposing that episode infoboxes get merged back with the main episode pages. This way, all non-admin users can add to them, and they'll be easier to edit because they aren't separate from episode articles themselves. 30 Katie (wallcontribs) 30 21:17, June 18, 2020 (UTC)

Voting will conclude on July 3, 2020, at 12:19 AM EDT.  Figmeister (WCE)  04:21, June 26, 2020 (UTC)

  • Oppose Extremely Strong Oppose - Episode infoboxes are a huge target for vandalism such as fake title cards, fake airdates, fake writers, etc. You can request active administrators to fix the episode infoboxes. Going by the logic of this proposal, you might as well unprotect the season pages while you're at it. - Jensonk
  • Neutral Neutral - I'm not sure if this proposal is proposing what I think it is; are you suggesting that we start copy-pasting all the contents on the episode templates and move them to the main pages so users can freely edit them without having to ask an admin? If so, that might be too much of a hassle, although 500+ pages worth the work. Either way I don't see why we can't just simply unprotect all the episode templates for users to edit; that would solve the problem much easier than half a week of migration.  EmilyHReturns (MCBE)  04:34, June 26, 2020 (UTC)
  • Support Strong Support - there are numerous things missing from the episode infoboxes, such as production years and airdates outside of America that it would be almost impossible for that to be managed solely by the administrators. Also, it would be easier to monitor any vandalism to episode infoboxes if they are on the main page because it would not require looking at recent changes to see that it has been edited. --The gamer 987654321 (talk) 09:30, June 26, 2020 (UTC)
