Instructions

This is a page for creating and resolving concerns on the topic: "ESB:Discord policy."

At the end of the page, there is a "Create New Concern" button, which you can use to voice your concerns or questions about the proposal. You can use the "Refresh This Discussion" button, which allows you to make sure that all changes have been saved.

After 7 days of discussion, the concerns stage will end. All points brought up during that phase will be taken into account and an administrator, assistant, or the proposal's creator can move the discussion to voting, modifying the original proposal with any changes discussed by the community.

You can also add your comments to existing concerns. On the other hand, if you have no concerns, then you just wait for the voting stage.

Have a happy discussion!

Proposal

I suggest changing the Discord rules, to make them more understandable:

1. Be respectful. Please respect the views of users and don't engage in heated arguments. We're all fans of SpongeBob here, let's have constructive debate! Any problems, please contact an admin or Discord moderator.

This group operates by the rules of the wiki and of Fandom/Gamepedia in general. Any disciplinary measures on the wiki apply here and vice versa.

2. Keep things appropriate. Please keep language appropriate for the server. SpongeBob is a kids show and we need to be respectful of that. If we could keep language at PG-13 that would be great. This includes emoji titles as well. We want to be inclusive of as many users as possible, of different ages and backgrounds.

Note: Swear words aren't allowed, but acronyms and censored profanity is allowed as long as only the first letter is visible; the rest must be censored.

3. Use the proper channel for discussions. We have plenty of channels to keep things organised in different categories, please keep conversation in appropriate channels. If a channel is going off-topic, we recommend you switch to another channel that suits your conversation.

4. Use common sense, be sensible. Very often situations run on a case-by-case basis and the rules cannot cover everything. If you are worried saying or doing something might break the rules, then the chances are it will. Still, if you are unsure, please ask an admin or Discord moderator.

5. Please keep your username recognizable. This channel is meant for users on ESB and to make it easier for ESB users to talk to each other. Use “change nickname” by right-clicking your username in the right sidebar if your global Discord name is not recognizable to folks as your wiki identity. If your nickname contains a bad word, you will be warned to change it. If you do not change it, you will be kicked out of the server, the next time you join the server, and without changing your nickname, you will be blocked. If your nickname matches the nickname of another participant, you will be asked to change it. If you do not do this, you will be kicked out of the server. Do not confuse the administration.

6. Please listen to moderators. Discord moderators and admins are volunteers. They want to make the server the most accessible place possible. Please treat them with respect and listen to any instructions they give. Infringements may result in a kick or ban.

7. Do not spam or flood. Please do not write meaningless messages that do not carry anything, and do not write a large number of the same messages.

"If your nickname contains a bad word, you will be warned to change it. If you do not change it, you will be banned immediately."

Yeah this is way too strict. Just because your nickname isn't completely lined up with ESB discord policy doesn't warrant a complete ban. A kick, sure, but not a ban.  FireMatch (WCE)  11:35, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

Why does it not guarantee a ban? Before that, the user is warned to change the nickname, so that it is not with a bad word, it will not change - it will be banned, so also if the nickname is with a bad word, then this is another violation of the rule that his nickname does not match the nickname of the Fandom user. Per FireMatch.  Robski10 (MCE) Model Sponge 128

Concerns are needed to ask about proposals' problems, not for this. And what is Nope? Don't you need new CORRECT rules? Squidward stock artStryker305Karen-blue-form-stock-art(Message Wall)Mrs Puff stock art(Contributions)Gary looking up stock art(Editcount)

Fine, I changed it! And I'm not in the server anyway.  Robski10 (MCE) Model Sponge 128
