*{{Support|W}} I support this under the assumption that categorization of all children will not be difficult or unclear, that there will not be any discrepancies, and that the guidelines for this would be clear enough and sufficient. Proposal

EmilyHReturns is proposing the following:

I think we should create a category for child characters in the series. I searched up and realized we don't have such a category yet and I think it would be really helpful. However, as with children in real life, this category will be exclusive to prepubescent children aged 12 and under. This category does not apply to teenagers however it can be added to the Category: page for teenagers if we also propose a category for them. EmilyHReturns (talk) 23:39, September 27, 2019 (UTC)

The voting stage will conclude on October 13, 2019, at 7:30 AM CST. TheKorraFanatic (Talk Page) (Contributions) (Guestbook) 12:38, October 6, 2019 (UTC)

  • Neutral Leaning toward Support - I'd be willing to support, however I don't know how we'd be able to determine if the character is older or younger than 12. ChickenkrispiesW C E Triforce  14:04, October 6, 2019 (UTC)

  • Support Support - I think this category would be very useful for distinguishing characters by their age range as some people might be curious about it. Not to mention, most of the characters are adults so this category would help separate the children from the adults (and to a lesser extent, the teenagers). And I disagree; I think it would be pretty easy determining whether a character is under or over 12. This can be determined by their height, residential/parental status, and their grade level/what school they go to (e.g. if they go to elementary school, then they have to be at least 12 and under).  EmilyHReturns (MCBE)  20:49, October 8, 2019 (UTC)
  • Oppose Oppose - It's too hard to determine. Most of the background characters have normal "Adult" designs, plus "Kid" versions that are used for scenes with kid characters in them. Would they be in the Child and Adult Characters categories at the same time? Also, some of the shorter background fish like Buddy are used as both kids and adults with no change in design. We hardly know any characters' exact ages. In Squeaky Boots, who's to say that the Blue Fish is 12 or 15? Nobody knows. It's better to explain on the characters' pages saying that they are a kid, a teen, or an adult, or that they have multiple designs and appear as both. Category won't help much. --Squidward9tv (talk) 13:41, October 9, 2019 (UTC)

    • Comment new Comment - We will only add the character to the child category if it's absolutely determined they're under 13. As for your other concern, they will only be added to the category if their kid version is used more than than adult design; if their adult design is their primary one, then they don't qualify for the children category. I wasn't even thinking about proposing an adult category. We don't have one yet and IDK if we really need one since adults form a majority of the show's characters.  EmilyHReturns (MCBE)
  • Neutral Neutral - A good idea but I'm not sure if it's that necessary.  Figmeister (WCE)  18:43, October 10, 2019 (UTC)
  • Support Weak Support - I support this under the assumption that categorization of all children will not be difficult or unclear, that there will not be any discrepancies, and that the guidelines for this would be clear enough and sufficient. However, my vote is subject to change if such concerns become red flags. Golfpecks2 (Contact • Contrib) 22:57, October 11, 2019 (UTC)
