Open Proposal

The following is an ongoing proposal. Please feel free to voice your opinion, but be sure to follow the rules.

How proposals work
    Concerns stage
  1. Someone brings up a topic for a proposal.
  2. The community discusses that topic.
  3. Voting stage
  4. The proposal is brought to a vote, taking into account any changes discussed by the community.
  5. The community votes.

You can use any of the following prior to your comments to show your opinion.

Support • Neutral • Oppose • Change • Comment • Reply • Question
Neutral votes do not count in determining the outcome percentage.

Instructions

This is a page for creating and resolving concerns on the topic: "Create a ESB:Requests for separation page."

At the end of the page, there is a "Create New Concern" button, which you can use to voice your concerns or questions about the proposal. You can use the "Refresh This Discussion" button, which allows you to make sure that all changes have been saved.

After 7 days of discussion, the concerns stage will end. All points brought up during that phase will be taken into account and an administrator, assistant, or the proposal's creator can move the discussion to voting, modifying the original proposal with any changes discussed by the community.

You can also add your comments to existing concerns. On the other hand, if you have no concerns, then you just wait for the voting stage.

Have a happy discussion!

Proposal

Please remember to see my sandbox to see how it'll look like

I say we make an ESB:Requests for separation page especially since this request is active and seems like it'll pass also if we ever need a template then Template:Separate could be used and just literally like other template's and to use it you must use Request-Separation and if we ever need voting template we could these (that were created by Pomelo Water) Separate vote Separate and Keep Combined Keep Combined and the templates to use them will be Separate and Keep Combined to use them and if you have any questions leave a comment below if you want to know how the template looks like then check here. Plus use RFS-header for each request. Archive will need (date) This is how the request for will look like:

Structure ESB:RFS This page serves as a place to request and discuss separations.

General

The following are the policies to the requests for separations process.

  • A. General
  • 1. This is an optional process; administrators can separate anything they believe is needed.
  • 2. If there is any controversy over separating a certain page, abstain from a separating war, do not separate the page, and bring the page in question to a separate discussion as outlined in this article.
  • 3. Anyone can nominate a page (article, category, etc.) they feel should be separated.
  • 4 Anyone can separate a page to as many pages as they desire.
  • 5. There cannot be more than 30 separations requests open at a given time. If there are already 30 requests at one time, do not create more or the requests made over the limit will be marked as invalid.
  • B. Process
  • 1. Fill out a form to create a separation discussion.
  • 2. Once the discussion is created, the nominator must explain why they feel the article should be separated.
  • a. If no explanation is given after twenty-four (24) hours, it will be closed as invalid.
  • 3. A discussion will occur, centered on that particular page.
  • 4. Neutral votes do not count in the final tally for consensus (70%)
  • C. Closing discussions
  • 1. Only administrators can close separation discussions.
  • 2. Separation discussions generally last seven (7) days.
  • 3 If a discussion closes and the result is separation, the page can be redirected to another article if there is a useful redirect.
  • 4. Exceptions
  • i. If a separation discussion does not receive a consensus (70%) either way after one (1) month, the discussion can be closed as "no consensus" and the page is kept.
  • ii. The creator of a separation discussion may withdraw their discussion at their sole discretion.
  • D. Request Limits for Pages
    • 1. When a page has been voted to not be separated three consecutive times within three months or six consecutive times (without a bounded time for the requests be submitted it), the page will be exempt from being requested to be separated for six months.
    • 2. After the initial six month ban of requesting on a page, every request that results without a separation will result in another six-month exemption.
    • 3. A page can be exempt from any six-month exemption from separation requests if:
      • If any discussion of a page's separation that is currently exempt is found to have 3 or more sockpuppets. The six-month exemption will be lifted and an admin will create a new discussion as a redo.
      • If a proposal is passed that allows separation in a category containing pages for the purposes of housekeeping, the page can be separated without a discussion if the passed proposal is defined in conjunction with a valid reason.
    • 4. All pages currently exempt from separation requests will be put in a sub-page to be displayed and updated on the ESB:Requests for separation page. The starting date and ending date of their exemptions will also be listed.

Request form

  • 1. Replace PAGE with the title of the page you believe should be separated in the box below.
  • 2. Click "submit."
  • 3. When you submit, fill out the information on the resulting page, then save the page.
  • 4. Copy and paste the following under "requests" of this page, replacing "PAGE" with the title.
  • ESB:Requests for separation/PAGE
  • 5. Add the template Request-Separation to the page nominated for deletion.

<createbox> preload=Template:RFP/preload prefix=ESB:Requests for separation/ default=PAGE buttonlabel=Submit bgcolor=#eeeeff width=50 </createbox>

Concerns

Resolved concern: Oversights

PreviewModifyComment

There are a few oversights in your draft policy. The ones that I have noticed are the following:

  • The shortcut should be ESB:RFS.
  • It should say that administrators can separate anything they believe is needed.
  • C3 - It should say that the page is kept separated.
  • D3 - It should say the page can be separated without a discussion.

Also, you are going to have to show how you want Template:Request-Separation to look like if this passes before the end of the concerns stage, or the proposal will (should) be closed as invalid. --The gamer 987654321 (talk) 09:48, August 4, 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for telling me that I'll fix that and add some more things. Admiral SpongeBob (MCBE)   18:55, August 4, 2020 (UTC)

Created concern: New templates

We would have to create two new templates: Keep Together and Separate. Though this is a good idea.  Blubabluba9990 M·C·E
