Preview • Modify • CommentThese extremely minor and tame profane words have been used in SpongeBob. For example, “damn” is used in the SpongeBob Movie. Therefore, your argument is invalid. --The gamer 987654321 (talk) 17:06, August 22, 2020 (UTC)
I have seen that movie twice and never was the d word said. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blubabluba9990 (wall • contribs). Remember to sign your posts with ~~~~

That usage isn't in a vulgar way. If in the unlikely event that you are referring to the location in Judeo-Christian mythology where sinners go, you can say "hell" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blubabluba9990 (wall • contribs). Remember to sign your posts with ~~~~
Words like Stupid, Idiot and many others are mentioned in the show. Why we need to banning this? Krabs SB (W•C•E) 12: 56, August 25, 2020 (UTC)

Preview • Modify • CommentThere's literally a track called "Straight from Hell" used in the show. GuyBesideYou3 M·C·E 17:39, August 22, 2020 (UTC)
Not true. Never would a track with such a word be used in this show. Blubabluba9990 M·C·E

Created concern: Not really sure if this is gonna work.
Preview • Modify • CommentI am concerned that users, especially vandals, might still use some profanity despite this proposal being passed. Kylecocjin (W•C•E)
Vandals break the rules anyway. Blubabluba9990 M·C·E
Again, the context isn't necessarily vulgar, as it is referring to the location in Judeo-Christian mythology where sinners go. Blubabluba9990 M·C·E

Preview • Modify • CommentThis is a little too strict and other wikis around the same level have them allowed. I feel like this is not needed Nathan Pirate (talk) 22:11, August 22, 2020 (UTC)Nathan Pirate

Created concern: A proposal about swear acronyms being used in chat literally passed less than 2 weeks ago.
Preview • Modify • CommentI know it was a little while ago but I feel like there should be at least a month gap between a proposal and a proposal against it. (yes I know chat is going away soon but still) SpongeTron D (W•C•E) I love SB-129
That would render this proposal invalid, wouldn't it ? --Nathan Pirate (talk) 21:44, August 24, 2020 (UTC)Nathan Pirate
< Well it should ChipFan111 m·b·c·e 22:59, August 24, 2020 (UTC) >
Well, I wonder why it's not closed yet. Maybe we need admin attention ? --Nathan Pirate (talk) 21:43, August 26, 2020 (UTC)Nathan Pirate
Created concern: expression
Preview • Modify • Commentin my opinion, profanity gives us the means to express our more intense thoughts. i think we have just the right amount of what's allowed and what isn't. "hell" and "damn" aren't too vulgar at all. i would much rather say, "what the hell were they thinking when they wrote this episode?!" than "heck." idk, it just gives you more freedom. besides, only users that are 13+ should be here, and if they're underage and they see those words, that's on them. you can't use these specific words to insult people though. Idroppedmypen ★ 21:58, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
I agree with pen as I only use profanity when I am expressing something as profanity is good for expressing stuff and plus I use profanity to let off anger ChipFan111 m·b·c·e 01:28, August 27, 2020 (UTC)
Created concern: Extra burden on admins
Preview • Modify • CommentIt's already annoying enough for administrators to warn users for saying stuff like the f word or the s word (which should be allowed because they don't actually harm anyone aside for kids looking at the wiki but YouTube allows swears in comment sections even though lots of kids use it.)
Preventing more very harmless words from being said would just mean that administrators would have to be on a further lookout for users saying stuff like hell or damn, which is annoying and stupid. 9/17 (W•C•E) 14:44, August 27, 2020 (UTC)
Yeah. Plus, the sixth concern would render this proposal invalid. --Nathan Pirate (talk) 21:23, August 27, 2020 (UTC)Nathan Pirate
