*Oppose I support getting rid of the "episode aired in [year] but produced in [year]" trivia, but the year in the credits doesn't actually equal the production year. For example, the DVD version of Help Wanted has 1999 in the credits but it was actually made in 1997. Having "Production year: 1999" on that page would be false info. For many other episodes, the credit year could mean the year it started production, the year it finished production, or just the year that it was paired up with its sister episode. It's too vague to be added everywhere! --Apalforsb (talk) 04:23, April 5, 2020 (UTC)

*Oppose As an admin on Nickipedia, I know for a fact that most of the credit years don't actually mean the year the episode began production. Episodes like "Pizza Delivery" and "Squeaky Boots" technically started production in 1996 when Steve H came up with their plot outlines. Episodes like "Scaredy Pants" were recorded in 1998. All of these are stamped with a "1999" copyright line even though they were finished before that year. Adding a "production" year would make things needlessly confusing, because it's not usually right... DantheDVDMan (talk) 23:34, April 5, 2020 (UTC)

Proposal

ItsAshleyFTW is proposing the following:

What I've noticed on episode pages recently is that the Trivia section has notes from when a certain episode was produced as opposed to when the episode aired. Example from "The Original Fry Cook": "Although this episode premiered in 2007, it was made in 2006 according to the credits."

This information is interesting, but I believe we can make it more convenient by adding the production years to the infobox instead of the trivia.

I think the exceptions should be: - "This was the first/last/only episode to be produced in (year)." - "This is the only season XX episode to be produced in (year)."

It should be easy to get the production years since they're listed at the end of the credits for each episode.

The voting stage will conclude on April 11, 2020, at 9:13 PM EST.  Anthony2306 (WCLE)  01:13, April 5, 2020 (UTC)

 • Support Support - I can see this working as most episodes have the year and copyright information stated in the end credits. The only exception is "Spongicus" and "Suction Cup Symphony" which have no year or copyright information anywhere in the end credits. All other episodes don't have this error. - Jensonk
