The policy mentions how removing votes from your own promotion request or User of the Month nomination will lead to having their request/nomination invalidated and the user will be prohibited from making a request for any position for thirty days and ineligible for a UotM nomination for six months. Since user rights are more important than User of the Month titles, would it not make sense to have the suspension of applying for user rights higher than the suspension of being nominated for UofM? I think changing the guidelines to the example below would be a great idea:

  • A. All users of ESB are entitled to vote on all matters as long as one (1) week has passed since their first edit.
  • B. Any user that is blocked will have their vote void if they are still blocked at the point in which the discussion is closed.
  • C. Any user removing votes from their own promotion request or user of the month nomination will have their entire request or nomination invalidated. The use is then prohibited from making such a request for any position for ninety (90) days and ineligible for such a nomination for sixty (60) days.
  • D. A user cannot vote on their own promotion request, user rights review, or user of the month nomination. They are, however, allowed to comment, ask, and answer questions.

This is a good idea. The reason it was such a difference of time for disqualification was because they used to be on two separate policies, until all voting policies were merged and simplified. This would make things better, although I would rather use 2 months and 3 months instead of 60 and 90 days. — AMK152 (Wall • Contrib) 02:14, November 26, 2018 (UTC)
