Since the provisional bylaws were created out of the old policies, I would like to propose some organizational changes that will make the bylaws flow a little smoother, plus adding needed sections and separating some sections into their own, so we have better organization of this document. The following changes I would like to propose. Let me know what you all think moving forward.
NAME - typically documents list the name of the organization/entity in the top of the document. Also, this allows us to refer to "Encyclopedia SpongeBobia" as "ESB" in the document, and it is clearly indicated that it is the abbreviation we use when referring to the wiki.
Article I: Name
To be determined. The name of the wiki shall be Encyclopedia SpongeBobia ("ESB").
CONTENT - should be after "Statement of Purpose," plus abbreviating for simplification
Article VIII: Content
F. Content from other websites
1. Content from Wikipedia is allowed to be copied to Encyclopedia SpongeBobiaESB. See Licensing at Community Central.
2. Publishing content (including reverting) from other websites to Encyclopedia SpongeBobiaESB without the author's permission is prohibited.
SOURCES - abbreviation for simplication.
Article VIIV: Sources
A. Acceptable sources
5. Trusted news sources that are acceptable by a vote of the Encyclopedia SpongeBobiaESB community.
Article IV: User conduct
COMMUNICATION - abbreviation for simplication.
Article IIIVI: Communication
1. Encyclopedia SpongeBobiaESB is a community of multiple different users, and so the use of good communication is necessary to maintain a civil and productive editing environment.
Article XIIIVII: Discussions
ADMINISTRATOR DUTIES - this was taken from multiple policies, and so it needs to be organized accordingly.
Article VVIII: Administrator duties
1.A. Administrators are privileged with the power to block other users and are expected to have good judgment when it comes to using this tool.
b.B. When a user is promoted, they have more privileges than the average user. They are expected to use these powers with good judgment and follow all the rules.
2.C. Do not pose as an administrator if you are not. Administrators are the only ones allowed to inform a user that they have been blocked or banned.
DEMOTIONS - A user rights review is not really a demotion, it's just a review, although it can lead to demotion. I would propose we separate these.
Article X: Demotions
B. Retirement and resignation
Article XI: User Rights Reviews
D.A. Quarterly User Rights Reviews
E.B. Emergency User Rights Review
Article XIXII: Blocking
Article XIIXIII: Content dispute
ADVERTISING AND AFFILIATION
Article VIIXIV: Advertising and affiliation
AMENDMENT OF BYLAWS - placing this section here until we can establish these rules.
Article XV: Amendment of bylaws
To be determined.
