Dopey Dick, also known as the great white jellyfish, is a rare white jellyfish who makes an appearance in the episode of the same name.
Description[]
It is a rare white jellyfish who lives inside the dark blue ocean. It is a gigantic jellyfish who appears to be much larger than the average jellyfish. It also has a mouth and says its quote "Doy, doy!" It is known for having a very powerful sting as well as purple jelly inside of it.
Role in episode[]
When Captain SpongeHab explains to his crew that they are hunting for Dopey Dick on Ye Olde Pineapple, he blows the shape of Dopey out of bubblegum to tell the sailors about Dopey. When the bubblegum pops and splatters all over Fishmael, the others notice Dopey Dick in the distance and quickly begin to chase after it. Fishmael Tentacles is given a special job to reel in Dopey Dick by being used as a harpoon, which pulls the boat in that direction. When Fishmael is chasing after Dopey Dick, he starts playing music on his recorder which calms him down, allowing him to be captured. After he is released by SpongeHab's crew, he is immediately reeled in by another vessel piloted by Capn' A. Krabs and Planky. However, unlike SpongeHab and his crew, they refuse to release him since they want to exploit Dopey Dick's jelly for financial gain. When Ye Olde Pineapple is destroyed by nematodes fired from Krabs' ship, SpongeHab and his crew must rescue him. They sneak onto the boat at night and find Dopey Dick in a fatigued state, with jelly being sucked out of his body and placed into canisters on the ship. Shortly after he is rescued by SpongeHab's crew, Krabs' crew awakens and realizes what's going on. When Krabs and Planky attempt to harpoon Dopey Dick back onto their ship, Dopey Dick rams into the ship destroying it in the process while rescuing SpongeHab and his crew. At the end of the episode, Dopey Dick is seen at The Jelly Squirt Inn where he shoots purple jelly at everyone, ending the story.

- He is a parody of the whale Moby Dick, the main antagonist of the 1851 novel Moby-Dick.
- Unlike Moby Dick, Dopey Dick isn't an antagonist. He is actually quite friendly, gentle, and jolly. He also has a forgiving nature since he is shown working for Capn' A. Krabs and Planky at The Jelly Squirt Inn as a humble employee after ramming into Capn A. Krabs' boat, which he probably isn't really intends to out of revenge.
- He's also pretty much the opposite of most jellyfishes in the series. Most jellyfishes are aggressive, shot-tempered, unfriendly and anti-social to non-jellyfishes, they would intentionally sting someone and they don't like giving their own natural jellies to non-jellyfishes. It seems that Dopey Dick is friendlier than most jellyfishes.
