Dirty Bubble Busters is a SpongeBob SquarePants online game. It is based on "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II."
It was released in 2008.
Gameplay[]
The player plays as SpongeBob and Patrick trying to clean up Bikini Bottom and get rid of the Dirty Bubbles. The player use the character's reef blowers to suck in dirty bubbles and trash. The dirty bubbles may also be on the heads of the Bikini Bottomites, who will throw trash at SpongeBob and Patrick until the player sucks the bubbles off their heads. The dirty bubbles will also stick to SpongeBob and Patrick's heads if they get close enough.
The player must also avoid falling into pits and walking into or sucking in jellyfish, which will sting SpongeBob and Patrick, making them temporarily uncontrollable. If SpongeBob or Patrick have a dirty bubble on their head, get hit by garbage, or fall into a pit, they become unusable (unless they have a dirty bubble on their head and the player sucks it into the vacuum), in which case the other character takes over. If both of them become unusable, the player loses a life. The game ends when the player loses all of their lives or when they beat the Dirty Bubble himself.

Trivia[]
General[]
- This game was made for Nickelodeon's educational project The Big Green Help.
- Every 2 levels have a huge Dirty Bubble appearing at the end with smaller dirty bubbles following it. The player must destroy it by sucking in all the small dirty bubbles, starting with the one at the end of the line.
- Many elements in this online game were reused from Dutchman's Dash released one year prior, such as the graphics and Patrick's quote "Did you see my underwear?" when he loses, which was originally from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
- Entering the code "WALMART" unlocks a micro-game.
Cultural references[]
- This game is a parody of the 1984 movie Ghostbusters. SpongeBob and Patrick are both wearing Ghostbusters-style uniforms, the reef blowers are in place of the Proton Packs from the film, and Patrick is wearing the Ecto-Goggles from the film.
