Character

The day care director, also known as the home ec teacher, is a character who first appears in the episode "Super Sitters." He reappears in "Home ECCH!" as Squidina's home economics teacher.

Description[]

He is an elderly green fish with balding gray hair wearing glasses, a brown jacket with a bright-yellow shirt and a blue tie, brown pants, and light-gray boots.

He is shown to have a very nervous personality, being highly overworked from taking care of the babies. However, he does care about his job, teaching the babies to get along and being upset when SpongeBob and Patrick stray from his schedule. In "Home ECCH!", he is worried about Squidina's dangerous projects, but always gives them a try.

Role in series[]

"Super Sitters"[]

When SpongeBob and Patrick enter the Super Child Daycare, the director mistakes them for babysitters he hired, and is very relieved that they have come. He gives them the schedule, tells them where the snacks are, and gives them keys to the panic room. He runs out of the building, claiming to return in a few hours.

When the director returns, he notices the chaos that SpongeBob and Patrick are causing from outside the building. He blows a whistle to get the babies to start behaving. The director gets angry at SpongeBob and Patrick for teaching the kids not to get along, and kicks them out of the building.

"Home ECCH!"[]

He is a teacher at the Bikini Bottom School. While most of his students are successful, Squidina is unable to do any of her assignments properly, with most of her projects turning out dangerous. Squidina convinces him to try her "pickle pie," and after one taste, he is sent to the hospital.

Squidina does her show from home and the teacher watches it through a mirror. However, her disturbing projects lead him to have a heart attack and faint. When Squidina finally succeeds in making a delicious pickle pie, Patrick takes her back to her teacher. However, he is on the verge of death, and Squidina is devastated. She uses the techniques she learned from her projects to successfully perform surgery and bring him back to life.

Although nervous, the teacher tastes Squidina's pickle pie, but finds it delicious. He and Squidina share it outside the hospital, and he agrees to give her an A+. However, he realizes that the recipe contains gluten, and puffs up from an allergic reaction.
