The clown,[1][2] also known as Spinny,[3] is a character who first appears in the episode "As Seen on TV."

Description[]

He has a white face, bright orange hair, red lips, a burgundy nose, blue eyes with black pupils, and lime arms and legs. He wears a mustard yellow shirt with a pink flower on it, purple pants with some light blue polka dots on it, blue shoes, and other clown accessories.

"As Seen on TV"[]

Squidward hires him for the Krusty Krab commercial to relieve stress. It appears his own form of verbalizing is honking noises. The clown is the only member of the production staff whom Mr. Krabs did not fire for unknown reasons.

"SpongeBob's Last Stand"[]

The clown attends the parade for the construction of the Shelly Superhighway.

"Potato Puff"[]

He and a sea elephant are painted on the wall of a nursery.

"Salty Sponge"[]

He is seen in the background, performing at the circus where Squidward is working.

"Friendiversary"[]

The clown appears ambushing SpongeBob and Squidward as they drive to the Kelp Forest. In this episode, he makes animalistic grunts and screeches and appears very violent.

"My Friend Patty"[]

The clown is one of the customers who wants to eat the living Krabby Patty. He blows a balloon out of his mouth. When Bubble Bass tries to eat the patty, the clown throws a pie at him and rides in on a bicycle to take it back. He honks a horn twice, then is attacked by more customers.

"Big Top Flop"[]

The clown appears on a sign outside the circus.

"BassWard"[]

He, and the banana-shaped car he was driving, get crushed by a chunk of a plane Bubble Bass and Squidward accidentally broke off, and when they leave he shrugs off the experience.

"Don't Make Me Laugh"[]

He appears on Sparklenose's tombstone, bowing.

"Shrinking Stars"[]

When the narrator describes the Tidal Zone as a "dimension not only of laughs and giggles," the clown is seen spinning on-screen.
