Synopsis[]
Following a sneak peek of events that will happen in the short, SpongeBob pops out of his mailbox and scares the mailman. Patrick asks SpongeBob what he got in the mail, which ends up being Squidward's Fancy Living Digest magazine, and the two gawk at it. Squidward shows up and snatches back the mag from them, prompting SpongeBob to ask how the people in that magazine get all their money. Squidward tells him they're entrepreneurs, and that they sell stuff to people. This convinces SpongeBob to try to become one, quickly asking Patrick one thing in the world he'd want at the moment, that being a chocolate bar. Sponge decides that they should become chocolate salespeople, letting the madness begin.

"CHOCOLATE!"
Their first customer is Incidental 6, who is triggered by chocolate and chases them down. Their next customer is Incidental 118C, who scams them into buying candy bar bags. With that, Sponge and Pat think fancy living will come their way, but Incidental 118C cons them again into buying candy bar bag carrying bags. SpongeBob begins to realize that they're not doing something right, not getting it. Sponge and Pat cross paths with a Barnacle Chips billboard, and Patrick reads out on the billboard that they're delicious. SpongeBob argues that they aren't, but when Patrick comments that "if they wouldn't stretch the truth, they wouldn't sell as many," he eventually realizes what they need to do in order to sell more bars - not without being chased by Incidental 6 again.
Their next customers are Mary and Baby Prunes, patronizing the former into bringing out the latter. When SpongeBob and Patrick try to sell it to Prunes, she states that she always hated chocolate, even when it was conceived - although Patrick convinces her into buying it by saying that it'll make her life forever by rubbing her skin. A montage of SpongeBob and Patrick tricking customers into buying their product is then seen, and they're ready to fool their next customer with faulty injuries. However, that customer turns out to have much worse injuries then them, telling Sponge and Pat a heartbreaking story about their life, cruelly ending with him falling down his porch steps, with glass shattering-sounds on each hit. SpongeBob asks him if they can help the man in anyway they can, and the customer tells him that the only way to do that is by buying all of his chocolate bars (as he's a chocolate bar salesman). SpongeBob and Patrick are then seen carrying out crates of chocolate bars, and the injured customer reveals himself to Incidental 118C, scamming them once again.
SpongeBob is glad that they helped the injured customer, but they're still in the dumps as "there's no one left in town to sell chocolate bars to." However, Incidental 6 pops up and starts terrorizing them once again, leaving Sponge & Pat afraid and desperately telling him not to maul them. Incidental 6 eventually explains that he was only trying to buy some bars from them, making SpongeBob and Patrick melt in thanks of their patronage.

"So, how long have you two ladies known each other?"
With all the money they now own, Sponge and Pat decide to use it to rent out the entirety of Fancy!, saddening Squidward, as it was his only night to be fancy. They bring along Mary and Baby Prunes as their "dates." When SpongeBob asks how long the two ladies have known each other, Prunes asks "What? What did he say?!" ending the short.
In a post-short scene, a sped-up behind-the-scenes look is shown on how the previous shot was created.
