Cave Patrick, also known as Patrick CaveStar[note 1] and Caveman Patrick[note 2], is the prehistoric counterpart of Patrick Star who first appears in the episode "Late for Breakfast," and is a recurring character on The Patrick Star Show.

Description[]
In his first two appearances, his design is practically identical to that of Patrick Star, (likely due to the modern Patrick portraying him in "Late for Breakfast") except he's naked and wears a tiny brown paper as a form of censoring his private parts. This design is pretty much carried over into his next official appearance, ("A Space Affair to Remember") however, with a more circular chin.
"The Prehistoric Patrick Star Show" shakes up the star's look, with him having brown, black-dotted prehistoric clothing, a sole unibrow over his eyes, and what appears to be a growing beard surrounding his mouth. This design is used for all of his later appearances.
As for personality, he's mostly seen as the same stupid star he's inspired by, although a trait established in "The Prehistoric Patrick Show" is that he possesses great strength, harassing a Bubblebassasaurus after eating a prehistoric Walter the Waiter and his delicious ice cream treats.
Role in series[]
"Late for Breakfast"[]
He's portrayed by Patrick as a part of GrandPat teaching his grandson about the ways of survival in the past. Him and Cave GrandPat try to hunt down a Plankton-like dinosaur, who unfortunately swats them into a rock, and are scraped off it and eaten by Squidasaurus Rex.
"Mid-Season Finale"[]
One of the skits shows various Patricks in a waiting room, including Cave Patrick. He is seen suspiciously eyeing Pat the Hapless, whom he is sitting next to. The manager calls for Patrick, so Cave Patrick says "I'm ready!" and stands up, along with all the others. The manager specifies that he meant Cave Patrick, causing the real Patrick to get upset and ask why he gets to go first. Cave Patrick beats his chest and pulls out a spear, but is fired and run over by a crew of ballet-dancing Patricks.
Later on, he hosts a game show called Guess What Me Thinking?, in which three contestants have to identify what he is thinking about. His thought bubble is a cloud of incomprehensible scribbles, which Caveman Jenkins correctly to be snakes. However, he is eaten by the mommy pterodactyl, who is eaten by Squidasaurus Rex. Since no other contestants are left, Cave Patrick declares Squidasaurus Rex the winner.
"A Space Affair to Remember"[]
He's the target of Patrick in a game of "Spin the Bottle." Patrick tries to kiss him, but accidentally kisses Squidina in the eye instead.
"The Prehistoric Patrick Star Show"[]
In his starring episode, he hosts The Cave Patrick Show and gets into all sorts of antics with his family and friends around town.
"The Starry Awards"[]
A picture of Cave Patrick appears when Patrick shows the nominees for Best Cutaway Segment. However, he loses to Dr. Plankenstein, SpongeMonster, and Pat-gor.
"The Patrick Show Cashes In"[]
Cave Patrick makes a cameo on one piece of merchandise, which is a box containing a stick on fire.
"The Star Games"[]
When Squidina is trying to prevent the coffee cup from being invented, she goes back in time to visit Cave Patrick, who is pouring coffee on a rock. She smashes the rock with a club and Cave Patrick pours the coffee on his hand, then screams.
"Chum Bucket List"[]
He makes a brief cameo during the "World of Friendship" song.
"Too Many Patricks"[]
Cave Patrick is one of the three Patricks from across time that Patrick sends to do parties for him. Cave Patrick first goes up to Lady Upturn's mansion, where he takes gems from two of the partygoers and clinks them together, making sparks that light some roses on fire. He then shows up at a funeral to entertain the guests, but they think he is a zombie and attack him. He then goes to Patrick, demanding the easier job of hosting the Patrick Show. In the ensuing fight, Cave Patrick ends up getting bounced off of Patrick and back into the time closet, returning home.
"5 Star Restaurant"[]
He is summoned to the Krusty Krab from the time closet as a customer.
"Star-Robics"[]
When Patrick goes back in time, he ends up in Cave Patrick's cave. There, he is berated for being a disgrace to the Stars' evolutionary line. Cave Patrick helps Patrick get in shape through some prehistoric training.

- Cave Patrick is currently the third character to be a prehistoric version of Patrick Star, after Patar and Primitive Patrick.
- His design in "The Prehistoric Patrick Star Show" looks similar to that of Fred Flintstone from The Flintstones.
