Incidental 66,[1] also known as the catfish customer, is a background character who appears in the episodes "Suds," "Valentine's Day," and "Fools in April," as well as in the books Comic Number 5 and Comic Number 6.

He also appeared in the storyboards for "Christmas Who?" and "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III," but he was not featured in the final versions of the episodes.


He is a light green catfish. He has two pairs of long, thin barbels on his face. He normally wears a long-sleeved dress shirt with a collar, brown slacks, and a black belt with a gold buckle. His shirt is beige in "Suds" and "Valentine's Day," and it is purple in "Fools in April."

When Mr. Krabs mentions that SpongeBob is sick, the catfish customer is one of the Bikini Bottomites who run around the Krusty Krab in panic.

"Valentine's Day"

The catfish customer appears with Buddy at the Valentine's Day Carnival. He walks while holding Buddy's hand, indicating that Buddy may be his son.

"Fools in April"

The catfish customer first appears sitting with Frank at the Krusty Krab. Later, he is seen having lunch with Thaddeus and SpongeBob's fan. When Squidward pranks SpongeBob, the catfish customer watches with a shocked expression. Later, he angrily storms out of the restaurant, disgusted after seeing Squidward's mean actions.

In the original storyboard, the catfish customer sings "Santa's coming tonight, tonight!" with the rest of the town. He later appears at Squidward's doorstep. He was not featured in the finished episode.

In the original storyboard, the catfish customer is at the First Nautical Bank when Man Ray enters. He laughs at Man Ray along with the other fish. He was not featured in the finished episode.
