In "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water," Burger Beard started by stealing the Magic Book from the Guardian skeleton on Bikini Atoll with the intent of rewriting the story of Bikini Bottom life in order to gain the Krabby Patty secret formula. Once gained, he traveled to land to sell Krabby Patties from the Burgermobile. His plan was foiled after an extended battle with SpongeBob and friends who turned into superheroes, such as the Invincibubble, in order to save the secret formula and rewrite the story. Plank-Ton ejected Burger Beard back to the Bikini Atoll where Burger Beard was forced to sing the SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song along with the Seagull Crew, the Captain, and Bubbles.
Role in the books
He had the same plot just like in the movie until SpongeBob and his friends traveled to the surface to stop him and foiled his plans.
Though his actions motivated by greed and appeared not as notorious as Plankton in the first film, Burger-Beard is arguably the most dangerous (if not cataclysmic) and toughest villain of all SpongeBob SquarePants villains, as he easily let Bikini Bottom descend into a post-apocalypse state by stealing the Krabby Patty recipe through his magic book, have no qualms of Bikini Bottomites' fate, and it took all superpowered main casts alongside superpowered Plankton to finally defeat him, unlike in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, where it took only SpongeBob and Patrick to defeat Plankton.
The following people voiced Burger-Beard in the non-English versions.
German: Bernd Vollbrecht = Burger Bart
French: Stéphane Bazin = Steak Tartare
Spanish: Salvador Aldeguer, Raúl Anaya = Barba Burger
