Burger Beard is the main antagonist of the film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water as well as its many adaptations.
Description[]
His hair and beard are both long and brown. He wears a blue jacket and pirate hat.
Biography[]
Burger Beard owns the Burgermobile which is a ship that doubles as a land vehicle to sell food, namely Krabby Patties. His main objective is to become a fast-food salesman, which he believed could be achieved by stealing the Krabby Patty secret formula using the Magic Book.
Role in movie[]
Burger Beard starts by stealing the Magic Book from the guardian skeleton on Bikini Atoll with the intent of rewriting the story of Bikini Bottom life in order to gain the Krabby Patty secret formula. Once gained, he travels to land to sell Krabby Patties from the Burgermobile.
His plan is foiled after an extended battle with SpongeBob and friends, who turn into superheroes, such as the Invincibubble, in order to save the secret formula and rewrite the story. Plank-Ton ejects Burger Beard back to the Bikini Atoll where Burger Beard is forced to sing the SpongeBob SquarePants Theme Song along with the Seagull Crew, Painty the Pirate, and Bubbles.

- With Plankton, Dennis, and King Poseidon being animated, Burger Beard is the only main antagonist from the movies to be live-action.
- Since Patchy the Pirate and The Pirates from the first SpongeBob movie being good guys and fans of SpongeBob Burger Beard is the only villainous live action pirate and tried to defeat SpongeBob.
- Antonio Banderas, the portrayer of Burger Beard, also plays the role of Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise.
- Patchy the Pirate was initially supposed to be the main antagonist of the second movie. But was replaced by Burger Beard very early on during pre-production due to Paramount Pictures requesting the main antagonist to be played by a celebrity.[1]
- Multiple celebrities were suggested to play Burger Beard, including Jack Black, Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage and Zach Galifianakis.[2]
