20 Years ago today, on May 1, 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants premiered, and is still going strong.
Here's to a fantastic series and to a sponge loved my millions!

I am probably going to get a LOT of flack for this but IDC
I don't think SpongeBob deserved to make it this far
Many many many other shows could have made it to 20 years but ultimately fell short
Why I am saying this is because not only did SpongeBob SquarePants ruin Nickelodeon, it also ruined itself IMHO!
I won't deny the show has made an impact on animation
However, how much of that was good vs. bad?
Me too. Even though season 12 is good so far, season 8-11 were pretty bad.
Seasons 1-3 and the first movie were great. After that the show became terrible, but the newest episodes are great.
Seasons 1-5 and both movies were good, seasons 6-9a weren't good, and season 9b onwards became good again.
The seasons from 4-9 were terrible because series creator Stephen Hillenburg didn't produce the episodes, and because of this the quality of the episodes suffered (with some exceptions, like Skill Crane). Seasons 10-12 are better, because Hillenburg has returned to produce episodes.

I disagree, season 4 is my third favourite of the show and i actually prefer it to season 2.
5-6 are both really good and while 7-8 are awful, they do have some gems as do 9-Now.

I disagree as well, Season 4 was not as good as the pre-movie seasons, but it was almost as great as them. Season 5, while being noticeably weaker, was still something good. It was Season 6 when things got rocky, but it still had some masterpieces. Season 7 was the only season of the show without any amazing episodes.

It's just my opinion, I respect yours. Agree to disagree.
