Big Jellies are characters that appear as enemies in the video game The Cosmic Shake.

Description

Big Jellies are large, muscular purple creatures that wear a pair of blue boxer shorts with suspenders and a band in the hair-like structure on top of their heads. They carry around a bathtub that they use as their weapon of choice.

Role in game

Big Jellies are semi-common enemies that first appear in Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom, and can be found in most of the game's other levels. When engaged in battle, they chase after SpongeBob and use close-ranged attacks with their bathtubs. They can either slam the tub down to try and crush SpongeBob, or they can spin around for several seconds in an attempt to whack him.

After a Big Jelly has finished performing an attack, it becomes tired for a few moments, giving the player a small opening to attack it before it recovers and picks up its bathtub. This is the only time a Big Jelly can be harmed, as they are usually immune to all forms of attacks. They take three hits to defeat. They drop six jellies when defeated.

Trivia

• Big Jellies seem to have the combined traits of Ham-Mers and G-Loves from Battle for Bikini Bottom, as they're capable of using both overhead slam attacks and spinning attacks.
• The Cosmic Shake has two achievements revolving around Big Jellies:
  • The first, called Wrath-tub, requires the player to get 25 enemies defeated with a Big Jelly's slam attacks.
  • The second, called Friendly Fire, requires the player to defeat a Big Jelly using a Baby Boom's projectile.
