He is much larger and hairier than an ordinary sea urchin. He is brown and wears a green bow tie.

When Patrick wakes up after falling asleep on the side of the road, he suddenly realizes that he has a beard. Squidward notices the beard and attempts to teach Patrick how to be more mature. Patrick starts participating in more mature activities with Squidward, such as visiting fancy locations around Bikini Bottom. When SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward visit The Famed Bikini Bottom Opera House, SpongeBob pretends to be an opera singer and Patrick starts crying while SpongeBob is singing. While Patrick is crying, it is revealed that the beard is actually a sea urchin in hibernation. The sea urchin wakes up as a result of Patrick's tears, and angrily runs away from Patrick.
