Role in comic
When Mr. Krabs says that SpongeBob is not allowed to get autographs from the Aquatic Adventurers when they arrive at the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob pleads, saying that they have to sign his issue of Aquatic Adventurers No. 1, as no one has ever been able to get all five members to sign that issue. Mr. Krabs bans SpongeBob from getting autographs, but he himself plans to get the team to sign his own issue of the comic book, so he can sell it for a large profit.
When the Aquatic Adventurers arrive that night, Mr. Krabs drags the Flying Fish into his office to sign his copy of the comic book. Everyone else notice his disappearance, and SpongeBob compares it to the story in the comic book, where the Invisible Isopod abducts the heroes one by one. As Mr. Krabs gets Barnacle Boy, Lighthouse Lass, and the Green Harpoon to sign his copy, SpongeBob and the team fully believe that the Invisible Isopod is attacking them, so they hide in the bathroom.
As Mr. Krabs goes to get Mermaid Man's signature and finish the collection, he notices that everyone is gone. He hears something in the bathroom and opens the door, causing SpongeBob and the Aquatic Adventurers to attack him, thinking that he is the Invisible Isopod. After the attack, Barnacle Boy realizes that the Invisible Isopod was actually Mr. Krabs, who asked them to sign his copy. SpongeBob wonders why Mr. Krabs would want the team to sign the comic book, before falsely thinking that Mr. Krabs was going to give the comic to him as a surprise.
SpongeBob takes the comic and thanks Mr. Krabs as the latter groans in pain.
