I am writing this to inform users here who do not keep an eye on this wiki's proposals that there has been a notable change to the policy regarding off-topic threads being posted here. The text that was added to the communication policy as a result of this proposal passing is the following:
"No more than 30 off topic posts may be created on discussions per day. A day is defined by the time period from each midnight using coordinated universal time (UTC). This restriction does not include games threads. Posts which exceed that limit will be removed, and the user who created the thread will be warned or blocked in line with the blocking policy."
This is intended to limit the number of those sorts of posts which clutter this forum everyday, and the indication is that this will be enforced fairly strictly by the discussion moderators. As for knowing what the exact time is in UTC, there is a clock which shows what the time is in UTC on this wiki's pages outside of discussions, and barring that any quick search on the internet will give you a conversion to your local time. With this change, I will now always implore you to check carefully that the limit of 30 off-topic posts for the day has not already been reached before you choose to post another off-topic thread, and if you are in doubt, do not post it. Also, do not try to get around this by putting posts in the wrong category - it will only likely be changed by a discussion moderator and will then count towards the limit.
