So you know how Stephen Hillenburg (The creator of SpongeBob) said that SpongeBob wouldn't have a love interest, and he's Asexual?... Well there are a couple episodes were SpongeBob hugs, and or kisses Squidward in the modern episodes (Sanitation Insanity, Hiccup Plague, Bubble Bass's Tab, 1,000 Patties Under The Sea, Squidwards Sick Daze, etc) And in 1,000 Patties Under The Sea is were it gets weird SpongeBob says "Bye Mr. Krabs!, Bye Squidward!" Then a few seconds later he says "Bye Squidward......" in a very flirty tone Patrick questions this and says "You just said Bye Squidward twice!" Then SpongeBob finally admits to this and says "I like Squidward....." and Bubble Bases Tab gets weird too So SpongeBob comes out of the door with a Red Rose and says "Oley Squidward?" And he replies with "Oley SpongeBob!" And they start doing the tango, So does that mean he's gay? Because in the Classic episodes he would just hug him and not kiss him, or be flirty around him, but now he hugs, kisses, and is flirty. So my theory is the current SpongeBob showrunner wanted him to become gay. There's really nothing wrong with being gay, but I hope they don't make an episode about it...
But what do you guys think?
