Season 12

Inspired by @Eric the TTTE fan 2013

I kinda think they should have seasons 9 and 10 of that show air simultaneously and in a completely random order, kinda like how SpongeBob season 12 was broadcast in the US. Would be quite funny if that happened.

Overall 7.5/10 (Superior) season

Well, this season was pretty good for the most part. Although it's a step down from S9-11 thanks to having some really bad episodes, worse than the worst episodes from those seasons.

Some episodes in this season are really creative and fun like "The Ghost of Plankton" "Karen's Baby" "Dream Hoppers", and "The Krusty Slammer". Episodes like "A Cabin in the Kelp" and "Swamp Mates", I really liked for executing the horror theme well and also the character dynamics. I liked seeing Bubble Bass and Patrick interacting with each other in the former. I really liked the return of the Gal Pals in the former, as the episode from S11 was already a great one. This season also features the 20th anniversary, and it's executed a lot better than the 10th anniversary from S6. Especially since half of these episodes were my first ever time viewing them, I am genuinely impressed by half of them.

That said the season definitely has some massive downsides. For instance, "The Nitwitting" was one of the worst episodes in a while (and probably the worst of the post sequel era). I mean it's genuinely disgusting and unfunny. The season also has some other duds like "SpongeBob's Bad Habit" and "Gary's Got Legs", also feature nonsensical plots (not even in a good way), and are also really disgusting and weird. This season also has a decent chunk of Squidward torture, such as "Jolly Lodgers" and "Pat Hearts Squid". As you can see, some episodes do suffer from gross out humor, which was the cause of some of the lower rated episodes on this list.

I've also noticed they started to reference the older seasons a bit more often here, well to me it can be hit or miss, sometimes it can be really bad, others it can be really good. There's also a noticeable amount of wacky faces and expressions in this season too, while sometimes it's fine, other times it gets way too overboard.

Overall, this was a good season but somewhat of a step down to S9-11

Rating: 7.5/10, might be an 8/10 depending on how I feel.
