Christmas Who?

On this day, 25 years ago today, Season 2’s Christmas Who? made its original release. This episode ended up becoming one of the most popular Christmas episodes in both Nickelodeon history as well as animation history as a whole. I had fun memories watching it on the SpongeBob Christmas DVD as a child. Even the Patchy the Pirate segments are also unique.

But anyways, Happy 25th Anniversary to Christmas Who.

10/10 Who doesn't love this episode? It's an absolute classic.

Plot: SpongeBob tries to bring Christmas to Bikini Bottom.

Positives:

1. The Patchy segments were amazing; each scene of Patchy preparing for Christmas was entertaining.

2. Squidward was phenomenal. His role was great, with him being very cynical about Christmas and even laughing in SpongeBob's face when Santa doesn't show up, and his realization that he was being a dick was really enjoyable too. This is honestly one of his best appearances; he's a jerk, but it works for the story, plus he redeemed himself at the end.

3. SpongeBob was phenomenal here. I love seeing him try to bring Christmas to Bikini Bottom and convince Squidward that Santa was coming. His behavior throughout this entire episode was really sweet.

4. Obviously, I have to talk about The Very First Christmas, which is an amazing song. Honestly, one of my favorites from the series is for how aesthetically pleasing and funny it is. Also, SpongeBob’s dance will forever be hilarious to me, especially with Squidward’s reaction.

5. The scene of Squidward giving his furniture away as presents to the residents of Bikini Bottom was wholesome.

6. The humor in this episode is excellent, too; the scene of Squidward insulting SpongeBob only for him to roast him back (unintentionally) was hilarious, and the scene of Squidward making fun of SpongeBob only for a donkey to appear on his face (signifying him being a donkey) was funny too.

7. “My wish is that the people of Bikini Bottom will stop paying any attention to the inane dribble that is constantly streaming out of this dunderhead's mouth! Gee, Squidward, maybe Santa will bring me a dictionary so I can understand what you just said.”

8. The ending was great. Potty trying to kiss Patchy was funny.

Negatives:

None

Overall, this is one of the best episodes of the entire series. It's funny, wholesome, and overall just really entertaining. I won't believe anyone who says they dislike this episode.
