In season 3 of Spongebob, there is an episode called "The Bully", where Flats, a new student in Mrs. Puffs boating school, says that he is going to beat up Spongebob. I have an interesting theory about this episode.
Everyone knows how much Mrs. Puff dislikes Spongebob and sees him as annoying, much like others in Bikini Bottom. However, I find it odd and weird that everyone is aware of that Flats is a bully (considering the fact that he mentions that he literally likes to beat up people), while Mrs. Puff claps excitingly before giving him a seat next to Spongebob. She is completely oblivious to all the signs of Flats wanting to beat up Spongebob.
My theory is that Mrs. Puff actually put Flats in her class and told him about Spongebob, wanting him to get beaten up by Flats. Is it possible that Mrs. Puff was just acting when she said that she would make sure that Spongebob would be safe?
She only gets mad at the end of the episode where she believes that Spongebob had beaten up Flats, before exclaiming that she was gonna beat Spongebob up. Maybe since her plan failed, she decides to take matter into her own hands.
The only other person who is oblivious to Flats bullying is Patrick, but that's Patrick and he isn't the smartest person.
I thought about this years ago and it hasn't left my mind. What do you guys think?
