Since somebody compared two squidward torture episodes to each other and made everyone miss the point, its time for me to talk about a SINGULAR episode that many people wrongly thought was a Squidward torture episode, when it was so much more than just that.
Are You Happy Now? is an episode that is probably the best example of this. Many people think its a Squidward torture episode, and some have gone as far to say that its one of the worst episodes of Seasons 6-8, but it actually isn't in my opinion. While everyone's opinion stands, PhantomStrider, A famous reviewer on YouTube known for his Spongebob lists and Top 10s, actually believed the episode wasn't so bad after all, but rather as a great episode for people with depression. The plot has Squidward being tired of Spongebob, but not to the point of being tortured. He starts getting depressed since he believes that his life will only revolve around Spongebob and working at the Krusty Krab. Throughout the series though, he has doing much more than that. At the end of the episode, where Squidward chainsaws all the fake Spongebobs, he finally experiences some sort of emotion, and therefore is out of the depression state. And remember Squidwards rage from the Season 2 episode Artist Unknown? He was PROUD of his creation after the rage of destroying stuff to make something beautiful and so does Squidward here! Unlike Squids Visit, thought to be a bad squidward torture episode without intuition and closer examination, here, Are You Happy Now? is not even a Squidward torture episode. It is quite literally a POWERFUL and EMOTIONALLY IMPACTFUL episode for people with depression.
And that is my insight on an episode so many people thought was both the worst episode and a Squidward torture episode.

Just hear me out, "Are You Happy Now?" is one of my fav episodes. I will tell you why. I will not defend everything about it, I mean it's jokes are meh. But, There is more good in it than bad.
Character Growth
In the episode we see a new side to Spongebob and Squidward. SpongeBob really tries his best to help Squidward. He tries not to be annoying. He wants to help Squidward. Squidward gets a more depressed side that I will talk about more in this next reason.
2. Real World Depression
You guys hate this episode because you feel bad for Squidward, but that is the point. It is showing the true look of depression. From a person who has a friend who was depressed, (Don't worry, my friend got through it.) this is what depression looks like. It is the lack of any emotions.
3. A Happy Ending
This episode has a very happy ending if you know what you are looking at. It ends with Squidward getting very angry and destroying all of the origami Spongebobs, Well Spongebob smiles in the background unfazed. Depression is the lack of emotions, so Squidward showing anger, at least showing Squidward partially made it out of his depression. I think Spongebob is smiling not because he is oblivious to what is happening, but he knows he helped Squidward. This ending is so good because it shows that even though depression is bad, it is not the end, you can win.
Those are the reasons I like "Are You Happy Now?"

#15: Are You Happy Now?
No, I’m not. This should be titled “Are you sad now?” Because this episode is so disturbing and creepy. Squidward also gets a “Happy” ending in this episode. However, while I DO think this is the worst season 8 episode, it’s not the worst episode in the dark era of SpongeBob.
Rating: Appalling episode
This will be a separate post project like @Tas1coolguy is doing.
Ever since my TAG teacher started being mean and annoying, I can't think of a happy memory. Please help.

These are 2 censors I found in "Are You Happy Now?" (I don't know WHERE they were cut)
In some places, SQ putting his head into the oven to get brownies was censored because they don't want kids doing this action.
In some places, SQ hanging up his birdcage was cut because the real tone was much darker.
