He's one of my favourite "villains"; even though I don't root for him to steal the secret formula, he's funny and even often likeable. The only time I'd call him a pure villain, and would say he was pure evil, was in the first movie; he went beyond simply trying to steal the formula by hiring a hitman to kill SpongeBob and Patrick, and set up Mr. Krabs to be executed by Neptune. Not to mention his brainwashing the citizens of Bikini Bottom, which actually doesn't seem as bad as the fact he was full-on homicidal. (Even if he wasn't the person attempting the killings himself, he was masterminding their implementations)
